We are excited to announce the Westside Infant-Family Network’s (WIN) upcoming training:
Reflective Supervision: A Model for Shared Learning
Success in the development of Reflective Supervision skills will become evident in the below listed skills. These will be expressed by attendees in the supervision group, in working with supervisees, and in the manner in which they discuss their supervisor/ supervisee relationships.
Educational Objectives:
▪ Demonstrate the ability to openly discuss their emotional response to content brought in by supervisees.
▪ Increase their supervisees’ ability to discuss their emotional response to participation in the work.
▪ Assist supervisees in making good use of their affective experience of the session in order to help guide the therapeutic work.
▪ Create a supervision environment in which supervisees feel supported, encouraged to share, safe to explore mistakes, and respected in regards to their cultural perspective.
▪ Demonstrate a change in their use of language that reflects a non-judgmental and strength-based approach to seeing supervisees and their work product.
▪ Demonstrate the ability to work within the context of the parallel process and bring the content of the supervision relationship back to the working model of the parent/child dyad.
▪ Assist supervisees in maintaining a professional stance while working in natural settings.

Barbara Stroud, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, ZERO TO THREE Graduate Fellow, an infant mental health specialist, and a private trainer and consultation. Her recently released text ‘How to Measure a Relationship’ is being used in 7 Countries and 20 States. The book has been well received across the fields of infant mental health, developmental disabilities, and child development. Dr Stroud holds endorsement status in California, under the Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health, as a Mental Health Specialist and a Reflective Practice Facilitator Level III. Dr. Stroud received her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and has over 20 year of experience providing training in the early childhood, child development, and mental health arenas. Her professional path has included Preschool Director, Non-Public School Administrator, Director of Early Intervention Programs, Early Intervention Training Program Manager, Faculty and Lecture at the Graduate University level, and Reflective Supervision Trainer. She has worked closely with and/or provides trainings across multiple professional sectors that support children and families including: Primary Care, Mental Health, Early Care and Education, Early Intervention (part C), Head Start and Early Head Start, Child Protective Service, Dependency Court Lawyers, and Caregivers. Annually Dr. Stroud provides training for up to 2,000 professional that touch the lives of children and families.
